Terms of service
Last updated [date of publishing]
These terms cover your use of activeReciepts, provided by Guy Ratcliffe, trading as activelogon ("activelogon", "we"). By creating an account you agree to them. Questions: support@activelogon.com.
What the service does
activeReciepts keeps your receipts: it stores the photos you add, reads the details from them, suggests what each one was for, and lets you send them on. It is a record-keeping tool. It is not accounting or tax advice.
Check what it reads
Receipts are read automatically, and the reading can be wrong, especially on faded, crumpled or unusual receipts. You are responsible for checking the details before you rely on them or send them to anyone. The original photo is always kept so you can check.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over to use the service.
- You sign in with Google (or Apple, once available). Keep that account secure.
- Only add receipts you are entitled to keep and share.
- Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break it, overload it or reach other people's data.
- There is a daily limit on how many receipts can be added or re-read, to keep the service fair for everyone.
Your data
Your receipts are yours. You can download everything at any time and delete your account at any time. How your data is handled is set out in the privacy policy.
Free and paid plans
Free: up to 10 receipts a month. Receipts older than three months are locked: they are kept and you can still download them, but they leave your lists until you upgrade. Nothing is deleted because you are on the free plan.
Paid: £2.99 a month or £29.99 a year, with no limit on how many receipts you keep, and every receipt unlocked. If a subscription ends, the account returns to the free plan.
Paying
Payments are handled by Paddle, which sells the subscription to you on our behalf and whose buyer terms also apply. You can cancel at any time; the subscription then runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds. As a UK consumer you have 14 days from first subscribing to change your mind. Cancel within those 14 days and you get your money back, less a fair amount for the days you have already used. After that, cancelling stops the next payment, and the time already paid for is not refunded unless the law says otherwise, for example if the service was faulty. Refunds are made by Paddle to the card you paid with. To ask for one, email support@activelogon.com.
Availability
We work to keep the service running and your data safe, but can't promise it will always be available or free of faults. If we ever close the service, you will be given at least 30 days' notice to download your receipts.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under UK law, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are not liable for losses caused by relying on details read from receipts without checking them. [Have this section reviewed before paid launch.]
Changes and ending
If these terms change in a way that matters, you will be told before the change takes effect. You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we can.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
